How to play Final Fantasy (and where to get it) – Part 8

Yuna + Rikku, Final Fantasy X-2

Most Final Fantasy titles have a linear storyline so it isn’t really hard to play or understand it. The hard part is whether or not you have the time and patience to play the game(the Draw ability used on creatures in FFVIII is a very time consuming endeavor for example). The fun thing about the games in the FF series is that you can go around exploring the world you are in, oftentimes gaining rewards for doing so. Right now, I am playing FFXII and I must admit it is quite addicting. I use a strategy guide most of the time to help me out when I’m stuck. However, I don’t just follow it. I actually go out and do little side quests that have nothing to do with the story but helps me gain more experience and other goodies.

Obtaining some of the Final Fantasy games are going to be hard because some of them are so old and they are on a variety of consoles. You can try looking for them in used game shops, you’ll probably be able to find parts 7, 8, and 9 easily. The older ones are trickier to find. Try ebay or other auction sites. There’s usually some floating around out there. The newer titles like FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII can be found at your local game shops, usually. Don’t fret if you can’t find a title. Square-Enix is always making some kind of upgrade to the older titles so you’ll probably be able to get your hands on one in the future.

Video game reviews: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core – Part 1

“Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII” was a new and fresh idea in regards to the “Final Fantasy VII” series.

So far, the Final Fantasy VII seems to be the most popular series out of the entire Final Fantasy franchise. So far, there has already been the original “Final Fantasy VII” which came out in January of 1997. Of all of the Final Fantasy games, the universe of Final Fantasy VII has been greatly and diversely expanded.

There was also the 3D CGI movie called “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children” which takes place a few years after the game. There is “Dirge of Cerberus,” which takes place after Advent Children and stars Vincent Valentine. There is also the mobile phone game called “Before Crisis” which takes place before Crisis Core.

There is also a brief anime OVA called “Final Fantasy VII: Last Order” which details the story in which the game’s main antagonist Sephiroth had went “crazy.”

When I first took a look at Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, I was taken by surprise. The game was actually good. It was completely different from Dirge of Cerberus. Dirge of Cerberus’ fighting system was completely different as it focused on being more of a role-playing game combined with the elements of a third-person shooter game. Crisis Core seemed to be a bit different. In a sense, it felt like I was playing a game like “Kingdom Hearts” because the combat system. While Crisis Core is a role-playing game, it was played in real-time. There was no action meter that needed filling up. All you needed to do for most of the time was the simple hack and slash.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a good game with a story that ties into the beginning of Final Fantasy VII. You play the role of the game’s protagonist Zack Fair throughout the whole game. You will come across certain people such as: Sephiroth, Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, Tifa Lockhart, Yuffie Kisaragi, Tseng, Reno, and Rude. There is also a slight reference to Vincent Valentine. The story focuses on Zack’s life as part of SOLDIER to where he passes on his legacy to Cloud. This really cannot be considered a side-story. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII would be considered the true prequel to the Final Fantasy VII series.

While the game play is different, there is one crucial aspect added: the Materia system. You can equip Materia which grants you abilities and spells. You can go ahead with the hacking and slashing of enemies; but, there are times where you need to use spells.

Video game reviews: Final Fantasy X – Part 15

Final Fantasy X was released in 2001 for the Playstation 2 and was the first out of three Final Fantasy games to be released on the Playstation 2 by Square Enix. Final Fantasy X is the first game in the series to feature voice actors for the cutscenes and also the first game to produce a direct sequel set in the same game universe, whereas all previous instalments are unrelated apart from a few elements such as chocobos, Cid and moogles, to name but a few.

The game begins in the middle of the story, and then tells of the events leading up to that moment using a common narrative style. It follows the story of Tidus, a young Blitzball player, who begins his story in a ruined city surrounded by a strange group of people. He tells his story in his own words and relates the events leading up to this moment, the story of their journey.

His story started in a futuristic city named Zanarkand, where he was a famous and talented Blitzball player for the Zanarkand Abes. During an important game, a creature from the sea attacks the city and destroys the Blitzball arena, sending Tidus tumbling from it. When he regains consciousness he wanders the city until he meets up with his old mentor, Auron, who explains briefly that the creature is called Sin. He says little and Tidus follows him in the hopes that they can reach safety. Auron however leads him directly to the creature and the two are sucked in.

When he next wakes up he finds himself floating in water, surrounded by the rubble from an ancient ruin in the distance. As he explores his new surroundings he is attacked by a wild beast and is only saved from death when a mysterious group of strangers rescue him. It is only once aboard their ship that he learns from one of his rescuers, a girl named Rikku, that Zanarkand no longer exists, and hasn’t existed for nearly one thousand years. He is overwhelmed by this news but before the information can sink in Sin attacks the ship and he is flung overboard.

He washes up on a tropical island some time later and adopted by Wakka, a friendly Blitzball player, who takes him into the village. Wakka suggests that Tidus should travel with him and a small group of other people to a place named Luca, where a Blitzball tournament is held every year, in the hope that Tidus might find someone he recognises. Tidus agrees and before they leave he is introduced to Yuna, a summoner in training who will be travelling with him and the others. He learns that she is travelling on

How to play Final Fantasy (and where to get it) – Part 10

Whenever I get bored or at a loose end I tend to play on the playstation. My favorite games are Final Fantasy games and the one I love the most is Final Fantasy V111.

The beginning of the game is a graphic animation of two young men fighting with gunblades and clips of the characters which you will encounter throughout the game, the ending of the fight leaves one of the young men hurt and in hospital.

This is where you start to play the game.

As you lie in hospital, hurt and waiting for your tutor who’s name is Quistis Trepe, the doctor asks you if you can remember your name, here is your chance to pick your own name for your character or stick to the one the computer game has given you.

Then as you lie there you will be spoken to by an unknown young woman who says hello and then go’s away, you will meet her later on in the game. After your instructor comes to get you at the hospital, you then have to go to the classroom where all the other students are.

Here you are told you have to complete your training by going to the Fire Cavern and then you’ll be on the way to becoming a member of the SeeD, which is what you are training for.

The Fire Cavern is situated behind the forest on the left of the Garden you have just come from, before you enter the Fire Cavern you have to junction your GF’s and Abilitys.

These can be found in the menu part of the game by pressing the circle button on your control pad, once you are in the menu press junction, at the top of the screen there is a list GF and Magic.

If you press the GF you will see a list of GF which you can put with your character or other characters you are playing with. The GF’s you start off with are called Quesicoti and Shiva, as you go around the game you can draw other GF’s (Guardian Forces) to help you fight the monsters.

At the Fire cavern you will have to fight small monsters to get to the GF Ifrit.

When you beat him he will join you and you can then junction him to one of your party.

To junction your magic you press the circle button again, go to where it says Magic and then choose where you want to put your magic, either in HP , Strength, Vitality ect.

The easier way is to just press the junction button and then press the auto button, the computer game will do the rest for you.

To set your ability, go to the junction button by pressing the circle button on your control pad, then pick which abilities you want to use, Magic, Draw, GF or Item.

It’ best to have Draw with

Final Fantasy X : Tidus

Final Fantasy is mostly self explanatory in playing. As long as one can read the language it is presented in, one should, with enough practice, be able to make it through most RPGs (Role Playing Games) without direct help. This does not mean, though, that the games are simple and easy. There are many points which can be quite challenging to pass and there was even more parts with "secrets" that most people won’t find unless they are aware of them before they play the certain scenario. The cheapest and fastest way to receive help is through online guidance. Use any search engine and you will find countless sites describing the tricks and methods to master the game. The second and more reliable, but more expensive resource is store bought guides (available at most gaming stores). Most of the Final Fantasy games should still be available in stores, but e-bay and the internet would probably be the best place to search for out of sale copies. There are many Final Fantasy groups, online and in real life, and you may be able to loan versions of the game and get help within these groups. The game is also more fun with someone else there who has either played it or is playing it.
