As I’ve grown older, it has seemed to me that the older you get, the less tolerable people are to you. Playing video games are no exception, especially role-playing games. It is acceptable for grown men with ages between 22-32 to play Madden for a living, but it seems like nobody can understand why a grown man would play Final Fantasy or Elder Scrolls or something of that nature. So, here is why a “grown man,” plays role-playing games and will continue to play them for a very long time.
When I was a boy, around 11 or so, or family didn’t have much money, we lived in a really small apartment in a beat down neighborhood, in DePere, Wisconsin. We had next to nothing and I watched my step-dad and mother work their butts off just to make sure we had a nice christmas, nice birthdays, and school stuff. Now with everyone being so busy, I started to get in more and more trouble. One time, I said something extremely innappropriate to a girl, and her mom heard it and told my mom. I was grounded for an entire month, that may not seem like much, but when you live in the city, and you can see all of your friends out there playing, it seemed like a lifetime. So, in this month, I had to find a way to pass the time.

Now, for those of you out there who havn’t played this game, you probably don’t know what I’m talking about however, let me explain to you what went on. Basically, Cloud (the main character) was ashamed that he never made it into the top class of SOLDIER (the games military). So then at some mission, the top guy of SOLDIER, Sephiroth, was looking through some old books and found out that he was genetically made with the DNA of an Ancient (a supernatural being). He then goes crazy and starts the town on fire that they were in (which happened to be Cloud’s hometown) and then goes to a place where his mother is. (His mother is the Ancient) So then, a top member of SOLDIER (Zach) and Cloud went after him. Zach wanted to just stop him, and Cloud was mad that he burned down his town. So Zach went to kill Sephiroth, but Sephiroth killed him, then Cloud takes Zach’s sword (and later clothes too) and fights Sephiroth, and kills him. So the story basically involves Sephiroth messing with Cloud’s head about the path and tries to cloud his judgement. But Cloud always knew what
